Bagdogra (IXB) is the main airport with direct flights from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru and more. Pakyong Airport near Gangtok has had irregular commercial flights due to weather – don’t rely on it without checking. A helicopter shuttle from Bagdogra (approx. 30 min) runs on some days, weather permitting.
By Train
New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the main railhead, connected to Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and more. The Sevoke–Rangpo rail project will eventually bring trains to Sikkim’s border, but road transfer is still needed.
By Road
NH10 follows the Teesta river via Sevoke, Kalijhora, Teesta Bazaar, Rangpo and Singtam. NH10 often gets disrupted in monsoon; the alternative route via Lava–Algarah or Gorubathan may be used.
